Lester R. Spangler

Lester R. Spangler, age 82 of Sanford, passed away Thursday, July 05, 2018 with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Ralph and Onita (Pringle) Spangler was born August 15, 1935 in Midland. He worked for Cintas as a machine operator for 41 years before retiring in 2001. Lester enjoyed working on and restoring cars, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loving family.

Lester is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Dorothy Thrush of whom he married on June 17, 1956 in Chelsea; children, Deb Holcomb of Sanford, Vivian Glesner of Midland, David (Zoeann) Spangler of Sanford, Colleen (Tom) VanSlambrouck of Sanford and Lester (Ann) Spangler of Midland; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Spangler, Bill (Sindy) Spangler, John Spangler; sister, Darlene (Bob) Bergeron.

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Spangler; sisters, Roxy Thrush, Norma (Fritz) Thurston, Shirley Wisner; son in-law, Dan Holcomb; grandson, Chad Glesner.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Youmans officiating. Cremation will follow. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 pm until the time of service. Memorials in Lester's name may be offered to the American Heart Association, Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund, or American Diabetes Association.
