Leonard A. Wilkins, age 90 of Midland died at Tender Care of Midland on Friday, October 1, 2010. The son of the late Michael and Anna (Ratkos) Wilkins was born on May 2, 1920 in Detroit where he was raised and educated moving to Pinconning. On October 7, 1944 he married Mary Gerhardt in Pinconning. Leonard served in the Army Airforce from 1941 to 1945, being stationed in Brisbane, Australia and Queensland, New Guinea. He was employed by the Dow Chemical Co with 32 years of service, retiring in 1977. Leonard was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #165. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary and his children; Paula (Ted) Smith of Higgins Lake, Mark (Lexie) Wilkins of Edenville and Ann Wilkins of Sterling Heights. Grandchildren are: Michael (Amy) Smith, Laura (Scott) Atton, Chad (Amy) Wilkins, Heather (Joe) Rinas, Chris (Tonya) Hoppe, Emily Lester and 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norbert Wilcznski and his friend Shirley and sisters: Eleanor (Delores) Drouin, Martha Brown and sister-in-law Helena Szymczak with many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, Midland, with Father Jose Parra concelebrating with Father Nicholas Coffario and Deacon Aloysius Oliver. Interment will be in New Calvary Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 and at the church from 1:00 pm until time of Mass.
