Leonard G. Schneider, Sr.

Leonard G. Schneider, Sr. age 75 of Midland, died early Wednesday morning April 7, 2010 at his residence. The son of the late Edward M. and Alice (Draves) Schneider, Sr. was born in Midland on February 11, 1935 where he was raised and educated. Leonard was the owner of 3-S Construction and Easy Wash Car Wash until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Centre Lodge #273 of the Free & Accepted Masons, Elf Khurafeh Shriners, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Bay City, Midland Antique Tractor Club, 20 Lakes Antique Tractor Club and Week-enders Camping Club. Leonard enjoyed restoring Farmall Tractors, flower gardens and traveling. On November 22, 1967 in Midland Leonard married the former Judith Martin.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years Judith Schneider; children Cheryl (Dean) Doan of Merrill, Leonard (Vickie) Schneider, Jr. of Midland, Sandra Faulkner of Texas, William Schneider and special friend, Mary Burnett of Freeland, Joan (David) Shankel of Midland; grandchildren, Deanna & Courtney Doan, Valerie & Lennie Ray Schneider, Jacob, Richard, Hope, Tyler & Tristin Faulkner, Kristin, Katherine & William Schneider, Nathan, Kendra & Connor Shankel; 2 great grandchildren; his special Schnauzer friend Phoebe; brothers, Frederick (Wilma) Schneider of Midland, Floyd (Shirley) Schneider of Colorado; sister, Doris (Willard) Finney of Midland; sister in law, Phyllis Schneider of Midland. In addition to his parents Leonard was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Schneider and sister, Clara Schneider.

Funeral services will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 10, 2010 from Poseyville United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Luce will officiate. Interment will follow in Poseyville Cemetery. Leonard's family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. A Masonic Memorial Service will take place Friday evening 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to Poseyville United Methodist Church or Midland Antique Tractor Club.
