Leonard H. Hector

January 28, 1932 — August 17, 2016

Leonard H. Hector, age 84 of Midland, passed away Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 at his residence. The son of the late Walter and Viola (Dow) Hector was born January 28th, 1932 in Flint, Michigan. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Leonard was employed with Lobdell and Emery Manufacturing as set up personnel, retiring in 1991 after over 40 years of service. On September 26th, 2009, he married the former Arleen Shangle who survives him. Leonard was a member of St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Midland and enjoyed music, arts and crafts, cooking, and baking.

In addition to his wife, Leonard is survived by his sons, Terry (Cindy) Hector, Gary Hector, Lonnie Hector, and Brian Hector; daughter Sherrie (Tom) Lance; step-children, Patricia Tunnisen, Linda (Raymond) Vaughan, Sheree (Charles) Laskowski, William (Sheri) Bethard, Arvilla (Robert) Droptiny - Lyster; and step son-in law David Gulvas and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Hector was predeceased by his first wife Sally, second wife, Jean; son, Kevin Hector, and step-daughter, Dawn Gulvas.

Per Leonard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a public graveside service will take place 12:00 noon on Friday, September 9th, 2016 at New Haven Township Cemetery, 9251 Buchanan Rd. Sumner, MI 48889 with Deacon Aloysius Oliver of St. Brigid's Catholic Church officiating. Military service will be provided at the graveside by the United States Army Honor Team. Memorials in Leonard's name may be offered to a charity of one's choice. Personal messages of condolence may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com
