Leo A. Pitt

Leo A. Pitt, age 75 of Midland, died early Sunday morning August 10, 2014 at his residence. The son of the late August J. and Martha (Osmond) Pitt was born in Midland on September 21, 1938 where he was raised and educated. Leo was employed with Bennett Construction, owned Pitt Builders and then owned and operated Leo's Archery for 22 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of Midland Missionary Church, was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years the former Patricia Sleeper of whom he married on October 19, 1957 in Midland; children, Brenda Thorington of Hope, Susan (Butch) Caldwell of Eldorado, Arkansas, Linda (Ryan) Pottle of North Carolina, Sally (Jim) Cook of Traverse City, Mark (Heidi) Pitt of Midland; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; brother, Joseph and Betsy Pitt; sister, Elizabeth Ordiway and his loving dog Ginger. In addition to his parents Leo was preceded in death by brothers, Ben & Albert Soper; sisters, Millie Roberson, Katie Soper and Sadie Grey.

Funeral services for Leo will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday August 13, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Wayne Shidler Chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the family's wishes.
