Leo Orwin Droomer

Leo O. Droomer, age 89 of Midland died at the Mid Michigan Medical Center on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. The son of the late Berton and Gertrude (Donahue) Droomer was born on November 29, 1921 in Midland where he was raised and educated. Leo served with the Army during WWII. On December 30, 1967 he married the former Dorothy Frappart in Midland. Leo worked for the City of Midland as a foreman in the Waste Water Treatment Plant retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. He attended St. Brigid's Catholic Church and was member of the American Legion and the Disabled Vets. He enjoyed archery, bowling, gardening, bow hunting, fishing and car racing.

Survived by his wife Dorothy Droomer and his children: William (Linda) Droomer of Clare, Russell (Gwen) Northrup of Midland, Kenneth (Joyce) Droomer of Midland, Patrick (Constance) Northrup of Saginaw, Craig Northrup of Ft. Wayne, IN, Katherine Talbot of Midland, and Geriann (Greg) Witbeck of Farwell. Leo is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and his sister Betty Franklin of Edenville. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son Klebear Northrup, brother:
Earl Droomer and sister Marion Burket.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Deacon Aloysius J. Oliver officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Private interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military honors will be under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans and the U.S Army Honor Guard. Memorials may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Michigan Chapter.
