Leo J. Brown, age 97 of Midland, passed away Sunday morning February 25, 2018 at Saginaw Senior Care Center. The son of the late Cecil J. and Olive A. (Day) Brown was born in Midland on February 20, 1921 where he was raised, educated and a 1941 graduate of Midland High School. Leo served in the United States Army during World War II where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was employed as a TV repairman for Godwins in Saginaw. Leo was a member and very active with the Pentecostal Temple in Midland where he served as choir director and Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed playing the trombone, hunting, fishing and was an avid Tigers Fan. On August 3, 1946 in Midland, Leo married the former Aletta June Wiggins and after 69 years of marriage she died on November 21, 2015.
Surviving are his daughters, Jan (Paul) Salowitz of Coleman, Deborah (David) Nobbs of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Tammy Brown of Midland; daughters in law, Beverly Brown of Sanford, Penny Brown of Fontana, California; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Leo was preceded in death by his sons, James and John Brown;
Funeral services for Leo will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 2, 2018 at Pentecostal Temple with Rev. Brian Michael officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive guests at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland on Thursday from 5 till 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the family's wishes.
