Laurel Gene Godley Jr

L. Gene Godley, Jr. age 52 of Midland died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Saginaw Covenant Hospital. The son of Laurel G. and Doris Jane (Williams) Godley Sr. was born November 29, 1956 in Owosso, MI. Gene married the former Shari McConnell on July 25, 1997 and had been a Midland resident for the past 7 years. Gene worked for McDonald Ford in Freeland in body work and as a painter for the past 11 years. Gene enjoyed working on vintage cars, hunting and was an avid gun collector.

Gene is survived by his wife, Shari, his parents Laurel and Doris Jane Godley Sr. of Gaines, MI. He is also survived by his children: Laurel G. Godley III, Robert N. Godley, Andrew M. Hoff, Jenifer Godley, Jessica McConnell, brother Ernest L. Godley, sisters Debra K. Weigand and Vickie S. Ashbaker. Four grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 from noon with a Gathering Service of Memories at 2:00 PM Wednesday. Memorials may be offered to the family. Personal messages of support may be left for the family at www.wilson-miller.com
