Krysti Lin Pyle, age 50 of Pinconning, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, Febr u ary 6, 2017 .
She was always a fighter and it was evident to anyone who knew her . She became unable to work in April of 2014, but wasn't diagnosed until the fall of that year. When she got the diagnosis, the cancer had already metastasized, but she told the doctor she did not want to know her prognosis . She did ask how long she had. He said, "seven months to seven years." She replied, "I'll take ten !" That was when the fighter in her came out . She put on her gloves and did not stop fighting until her last breath. During her illness she did her favorite things whenever she could: a trip to Cedar Point , camp i ng, canoeing, playing poker at the casino and gardening. You could find her outside with her hands in the dirt , sometimes wearing a hat and sometimes just bald-headed. Even though chemo patients are supposed to avoid the sun, she worshipped it. Last summer Krysti was able to make a trip to Pennsylvan i a and Washington D.C . with her parents and daughter. She drove herself to most of her chemo treatments and stayed at home i n Pinconning through her whole il l ness until the last few weeks when it was evident that she needed 24 hour care. She then came to Mom and Dad's house.
Krysti loved animals and would have had a house full if she could. She was notorious for bringing h ome stray or lost dogs and finding their owners, or finding them a new home . Sometimes it was a who l e litter that she brought home. She loved a good joke, especially if the joke was on you . She could c ome up with a phenomenal Halloween costume, and dressed up to take her daughters trick or treat i ng
She was born on July 24, 1966 and graduated from Meridian in 1984 . She is survived by her pa r ent s, Bob and Marylou Pyle, daughter Danielle and her father Mike Fitzgerald, daughter Shedel an d n ew granddaughter Ella . She was pre-deceased by her uncles, Ken and Roger Pyle and grandmother , J e an Woodruff . Krysti and Grama had a special bond, and she passed on what would have been G ra ma ' s 91 s t birthday.
