Kathryn Marie (Kathy) Pomranky passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 7, 2026 at MediLodge in Midland. She was born on July 15, 1953 in Midland, Michigan to her parents Lyle and Fran Pomranky. Kathy was a lifelong resident of Midland. She attended Ashman School and retired from the Arnold Center in 2016 after 25 years of service.
Kathy was a social person who enjoyed visiting with all kinds of people and especially loved babies. She liked animals, with horses and dogs being among her favorites. She would always talk about where she was going to build her dream home someday. The only thing that would change is the location she wanted it at. She was a perfect example of the importance of having goals and following your dreams.
Kathy enjoyed going to Brimley, MI in her earlier years to visit her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She enjoyed music, social interaction, fishing, boating, latch-hook projects and life in general.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Becky (Stan) Clark of Midland, and brother, Larry (Sandy) Pomranky of Ellenton, FL; niece Candy (Bob) Sittig of Leawood, KS; nephews, Shawn and Eric (Carrie) Clark of Midland, also great niece and nephew, Isabella and Bobby Sittig of Kansas; aunt Sharon Hawley, along with many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Lyle and Fran Pomranky; grandparents, Arthur and Ida Pomranky, Sheldon Smith and Doris Pierson.
A memorial in Kathy’s honor will be held and announced at a later dat. Special thanks to the many caregivers that helped Kathy over the years, including Ada Olund, Cook’s A.F.C., Pinecrest Farms, MediLodge of Midland and Hartland Hospice.
