Kathleen Sue Shoemaker

Kathleen Sue Shoemaker, 75, of Midland, Michigan went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Kathleen (Kathy) was born in Midland to Darwin and Clara (Beck) Orwig. She graduated from Regina High School in 1967 and Ferris State College in 1970. She was a registered dental hygienist for 44 years, working with Dr. Bruce Allen and Dr. Allen Montoye for many years before finishing her career in the office of Dr. Nathalie Dube. Her friendly conversations and gentle touch made her a favorite of the patients.

Kathy loved sewing, baking, gardening, crafting, and home improvement projects. She also had a strong faith and could always be counted on to pray for people.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Elizabeth (Jason) Embrey of Mount Pleasant and Gina (Chris) Rennie of Davisburg; sister, Jan Hecht of Midland; nieces, Katrina (Rob) Hildebrandt of Noblesville, IN, Dr. Eva (Josh) Bartlett of Lakeview, MI, and Minna (Cory) Kerchner of Indianapolis, IN; great niece and nephews, Smith Kerchner of Indianapolis, IN, and Olivia and Merick Bartlett of Lakeview, MI; and her beloved cat, Max.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Roger Hecht.

To honor Kathy's wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of her life will take place this summer. Memorial donations in memory of Kathy may be made to the Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS) or the Humane Society of Midland County.
