Kathleen I. Forbes

Kathleen I. (Marquis) Forbes, age 82 of Midland, died Friday July 1, 2016 at her residence. The daughter of the late Robert O. and Blanche (Cole) Marquis was born in Midland on May 19, 1934 where she was raised, educated and a graduate of the 1954 class of Midland High School. Katy had been employed as manager of Valley Drug Store in Midland and then went on to own and operate Granny Square on the Circle. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, enjoyed knitting, reading, working in her garden and canning many items for her family.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years Allan R. Forbes of whom she married on March 15, 1952 in Trinity Lutheran Church- Monitor; sons, Allan R. (Connie) Forbes II of Chapel Hill, NC, Mark K. (Julie) Forbes of Woodlands, TX, Scott D. (Kristine) Forbes of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Suzan K. (David) Vitale of Clarkston, MI.; grandchildren, Breanne (Nate) Hubbard, Ryan (Lauren) Forbes, Christopher, Jeffrey and Matthew Forbes, Mattisse & Arabella Vitale, Adam Forbes; great grandchildren, Noah & Amalia. In addition to her parents Katy was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Elenbaas.

Funeral and committal services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 6, 2016 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Curt Adams officiating. Interment will be in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland on Tuesday from 4 till 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of service.
