"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he leadeth me beside the still waters, he restoreth my soul" (Psalm23). Karen Ann (Livingston) Richards, 74, of Midland, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 11, 2018, with family at her side.
Daughter of the late Roger and Elsie (Wells) Livingston, was born on January 21, 1944, in Midland County. Karen attended Midland High School, working as a co-op her senior year for the Dow Corning Co., and then graduating in1962. She also worked for the Dow Chemical Co. for about 31 years, before retiring in 1997.
Karen was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed reading books, spending time with her family and friends, camping, gardening, playing cards. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she participated in the Bell Choir.
Karen is survived by her husband, Lee Kenneth Richards, whom she married on November 1, 1963 celebrating 54 wonderful years together; her brother, Lloyd (Barbara) Livingston; sister, Phyllis (Robert) Zink. She is also survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Charles) Liederman of Shelby Twp., Amy (Brandon) Richards-McGraw of Midland, and Traci (Thomas) Galloway of Nebraska; 5 grandchildren, Daniel (Stephanie) Allen, Kelly (Ryan) Combs, Jason Allen (Liz Roxberry), Taylor Cox, and Breanna McGraw; 8 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Alyssa, Evelyn, Grayson, Ashlyn, Alivia, Rilyn, and Madelyn.
A celebration of Karen's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 16, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter St., Midland, MI with Rev. Josh Parsons officiating. Family will receive guests at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Karen has requested donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, the National Kidney Foundation, or the family. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
