Karen Jane Lewis

Karen Jane Lewis, age 81 of Midland, passed away peacefully Friday, January 26, 2024 at home. She was born January 20, 1943 in Midland, Michigan to the late Kenneth Daniel and Clara (Steinke) Richards. Karen was baptized and confirmed from St. John's Lutheran Church. She attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Midland High School.

Karen married the late Walter Charles Lewis on July 18, 1964 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Midland, Michigan. The most important thing in Karen's life was her family. She loved each one of them dearly, especially her grandkids. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Lewis Bauer; two sons, John (Lori) Lewis, Joel (Nancy) Lewis; six grandchildren, Meghan (Robert) Martin, Sonya (D.J.) Hogan, Jessica (Will) Howard, Jacob Lewis, Jay (Kaleigh) Lewis, Hannah (George) Mahoney; six great-grandchildren, Jaedyn, Dakota, Penelope, Bellamy, Kaden and Carter; brother, Lee Richards; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and two sisters, Carolyn Jane and Doris Arlene.

A celebration of Karen's life will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 2, 2024 from St. John's Lutheran Church, 505 E. Carpenter St. Midland, MI 48640. Rev. Josh Parsons will officiate with private burial to be in Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of service.
