June K. Tosch age 86 of Midland died May 6, 2016 following a lengthy illness and is at home now with her Lord and Savior. The daughter of the late Clare and Isole (Shaw) Schoenhals was born on June 11, 1929 in Brown City where she was raised and educated. She attended Fort Wayne Bible College and on April 8, 1948 married Clare M Tosch. June was a very talented musician and supported her husband's ministries as a minister with the United Methodist Church in Cloverdale-Maplegrove, Jackson, Odgen Center, Pigeon, Saginaw, Milan, Sanford, and Cheboygan. June taught piano for many years. Besides the piano, she also played the organ, trumpet and the violin. June was frequently a soloist, directed numerous vocal and hand bell choirs and upon retirement was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Midland and sang in the Chancel Choir as well as the Midland Choral Society. Among June's many interests she enjoyed photography, flowers, gardening, and most of all treasured her family and her faith. She was an excellent homemaker and adored by her children, grandchildren and husband of 68 years for the amazing woman that she was throughout her lifetime.
June is survived by her husband, Clare Tosch; her son, James (Karen) Tosch of Freeland; her daughter, Karen (Ralph) Herzberg of Saginaw. June was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol J Nash earlier this year. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew Nash, Stephen (Kelley) Nash, Jeffrey (Jaime) Tosch, Bethany Tosch, Bradley Herzberg and Todd Herzberg; 5 great grandchildren; brother; Clarence (Evelyn) Schoenhals; sister, Ruth Ann (Lyle) Mahaffy; sisters-in-law, Barbara Tosch and Alice (Greg) Cutler.
A celebration of June's life will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 10, 2016 from First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. J.D. Landis officiating. Inurnment of her ashes will be in the Shrader Memorial Gardens at the church. Family will receive friends at the CHURCH on Monday from 4 till 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to First United Methodist Church Missions or Music Funds. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
