Joyce I Gandy

Joyce I. Gandy, age 86 of Freeland and formerly of Midland, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Barton Woods Assisted Living. The daughter of the late Albert L. and Reva A. (Hoon) Ross was born February 26, 1932 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On May 5, 1951, Joyce married Nelson "Joe" Gandy. After nearly 57 years of marriage, he preceded her in death April 27, 2008. She enjoyed many things, including gardening, fishing, singing hymns, and playing bocce ball.

Joyce is survived by her children, Mike (Janet) Gandy of Sanford and Marla (John) Breault of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ted) Nagel, Travis (Candace) Gandy, Alyssa (Paul) Hernandez, and Hillary (Phu) Pham; great grandchildren, Heidi, Emily, Finn, Pippa, Charlie, Jolene, Payton, and John; and sister, Carolyn Rhodes-Brushaber.

Per Joyce's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held Saturday February 16th, 2019 at Midland Missionary Church with Rev. Wayne Shilder officiating. Family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions in Joyce's name may be offered to the Alzheimer's Association.
