Joseph M. Stolarczyk

October 18, 1921 — March 22, 2015

Joseph M. Stolarczyk, 93, of Midland (formerly of Hernando, Florida) passed away Sunday, March 22.

He was born in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Regina (Sutrynowicz) along with brothers Chester, Casimer and Henry. Joe joined the US Army Air Corps in 1939 performing duties as a B-17 bombardier in anti-submarine/reconnaissance missions in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He attained the rank of Tech Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1945 from the United States Air Force.

He married Betty J. Bottineau in 1947; she predeceased him in 1998. Joe was employed by the Ford Motor Company in 1951 becoming a design engineer, retiring in 1980. He then joined Lockheed-Martin as an engineer working on military and aerospace applications, retiring in 1985.

Joe is survived by son Jeff (Gwyn) Stolarczyk of Midland; granddaughter Laura (Keenan) Young of Midland and grandson Lucas Stolarczyk of Midland; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

According to Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Joe was extremely proud of his WW II service and contributed regularly to numerous veteran's organizations. He would be honored to have any memorials made in his name to a veteran's organization of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
