Joseph H. Ostahowski, age 84 of Midland, died Thursday May 16, 2013 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Joseph J. and Mary L. (Commora) Ostahowski was born in Midland County on April 8, 1929 where he was raised and educated graduating from Midland High School in 1951. Joe served in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the Local Laborers Union No. 1089 for over 32 years retiring in 1984. Joe was a faithful member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Knights of Columbus, enjoyed farming, working in his garden, playing cards and was a Tiger Fan.
   
   
   Surviving are his brothers, Anthony (Ruth) Ostahowski, Leonard (Dorothy) Ostahowski all of Midland; sisters, Lucille Hintz and Helen White both of Midland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by brothers, John, Edward, Stanley and Walter; sister, Ann Seruga.
   
   
   The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 21, 2013 from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow in New Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors being provided by the U. S. Army Funeral Honors and the Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Christian Vigil Service will take place 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials maybe offered to the Church or the organization of choice.
