Joseph C. Maynard, Jr.

Joseph C. Maynard, Jr. age 73 of Sanford, died Wednesday morning April 1, 2009 at his residence. The son of the late Joseph C. and Viola (Arnold) Maynard was born in Detroit on November 18, 1935. Joe served in the United State Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He and his family owned and operated Maynard Trucking and Excavating in Sanford. Joe enjoyed traveling and was an avid Black Jack Casino player. On October 14, 1957 in Angola, Indiana Joe married the former Dorothy Sebastian.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy; daughter, Joanna Marie (Mike) Beiser of Auburn; granddaughter, Ericka Marie Beiser; grandson, Jamie A. Maynard, Sr.; brothers, John and Fred Maynard. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by a son, Terry A. Maynard; an infant son and infant daughter.

Funeral and committal services will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday April 3, 2009 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Youmans of Lighthouse Body of Christ Church will officiate. Interment will be in Jerome Twp Cemetery, Sanford. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Friday from 12 noon until the time of service.
