Joseph D."Joe" Andrews

Joseph D. "Joe" Andrews, age 48 of Gladwin, died Saturday November 14, 2009 at West Branch Medical Center from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. The son of Harold and Cyress (Koselka) Andrews was born in Detroit on December 6, 1960 where he was raised and educated. Joe was employed as a chemical engineer with The Dow Chemical Co. in Midland. He was a member of United Steel Workers Local 12075 where he was a Union Stewart and was a member of the Board of Trustees. Joe enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with this family and friends especially his grandchildren. Joe was a member of ABATE of Michigan Region 6 and a life member of NRA. He is a lung cancer survivor being in remission for over 9 years. On December 17, 1991 in Roscommon, Joe married the former Terry Cook.

Surviving is his wife Terry; children, Jodi Sapp of Lupton, Gerald (Melissa) Carr of Midland, Gary Carr of Scotland, UK, Gordon Carr of Iowa; grandchildren, Zaxhery, Savannah, Alexander, Jordan Sapp, Grant Carr and Kynlee Carr; father and step mother, Harold and Sherry Andrews of St. Helen; mother and step father, Cyress Andrews (Gary Henson) of Romulus; brothers and sisters, Chris Kolo, Brad (Vivian) Andrews, Tracy (Bill) Connelly, Carrie Nickel, Danny Andrews, Curtis (Shelly) Wisterman, Casey (Laurie) Wisterman, Carrie (Chad) Brown; Grandmother, Lela Andrews of Fayetteville, TN; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friend and brother, Dennis Nau of Hope. Joe was preceded in death by a brother Christopher John Andrews; grandfather, Grady Andrews; and grandmother, Meta Avendt.

Funeral services will take place 6:00 p.m. Saturday November 21, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund or Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit.
