John E. Johnson

John E. Johnson, age 73 of Midland, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center of Midland. He was born September 30, 1943 in Brownwood, Texas. On June 28, 1969, John married the former Marla Dice in Midland where they spent 48 years together. He was a proud Purdue graduate. John worked as a Chemical Engineer for Dow Corning Corporation for 36 years. He enjoyed mentoring many young engineers. John was an avid fly-fisherman, backpacker, and cross-country skier. He and his family enjoyed many wilderness adventures together.

John is survived by his wife, Marla; daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Princing of Hemlock and Kathy (Brian) Chapman of Wadenswil, Switzerland; and grandchildren, Jenna, Beatrice and Claire.

Per John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. Memorials in John's name may be offered to Little Forks Conservancy of Midland.
