Joel Donald Hollingsworth

Joel Donald Hollingsworth, age 29 of Midland died Tuesday, December 1, 2009. The son of Rachel (Harlow) Hollingsworth of Midland and John Hollingsworth of Roscommon was born on October 18, 1980 in Lansing, MI. Joel moved to Midland as an infant and graduated from Bullock Creek High School in 1999 and after graduating he worked for Catering by Rachel and Joel's Deli. He then graduated from Johnson & Wales Culinary School and worked as an Executive Chef for the Souk Restaurant in Chicago. On his return to Midland he worked as a pipe fitter for J. E. Johnson and later as a welder for Tradesman International. He was a devoted loving father to his son Royce, who was the joy of his life. Joel enjoyed sports as a youth and gathering at the family farm in St. Johns. He also loved his Jack Russell Terrier "Forest".

Joel is survived by his parents: Rachel Hollingsworth of Midland and John Hollingsworth of Roscommon and his son Royce Joel Hollingsworth and his mother Shalequa Henson of Midland. He is also survived by brothers Zachary Leonard and his fiancé April Sokolski and Dillon Hollingsworth. Joel will also be missed by his aunt, Vicki Devereaux and Chuck Krasinski and his uncles: Roy & Lois Harlow, Ross & Sharon Harlow, Robert & Heidi Leslie and his grandmother Jean Harlow and many special cousins. Joel was predeceased by his grandparents Ivan & Margaret Harlow and an Aunt Yvonne Leslie.

Funeral services for Joel will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend John Langewisch, of Messiah Lutheran Church, officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and at 10:00 am on Saturday until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the family for his son, Royce.
