Joan V. Fenton

Joan V. (Guilford) Fenton age 65 of Midland died at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor on Saturday, April 2, 2011. The daughter of the late W. Vernon and Vera (Scoles) Guilford was born on September 4, 1945 in Saginaw and was raised and educated in the Hemlock area. She married William Fenton on November 10, 1978 in Midland. Joan was a homemaker until going to work for Dow Corning, retiring in 1997 after 20 years of service. She loved quilting, sewing and summers at the cottage at Platte Lake.

Joan is survived by her husband, William Fenton; sons Roger (Andrea) Beagle of St. Charles, Thomas (Andrea) Fenton of Midland, William Fenton of Traverse City and daughter Nancy Beagle of Midland. She is also survived by five grandchildren Thomas Beagle, Travis Beagle, Lillian Burmeister-Fenton, Thomas Fenton, Chelsea Fenton and a brother William (Jean) Guilford of Hemlock. She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Ellen Beagle and brother George R. Guilford.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Paul Densmore of the Nelson United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm. until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the University of Nebraska Omaha Medical Center.
