Jessie M. Penn

Jessie M. Penn, age 89 of Midland, died Sunday February 14, 2010 at Tendercare of Midland. The daughter of the late Frank C. and Lena M. (Spinks) Slaughter was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 27, 1920. Jessie was married to Scott Penn who died in November of 1983. She enjoyed needle point, crocheting, knitting, bird watching, growing house plants. Jessie was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball Fan, attended Calvary Baptist Church and was involved with the Eastern Stars. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her sons, Scott F. (Mary) Penn of Lutz, Florida, William E. Penn of Williamston, Michigan; grandchildren, Leroy, Jennifer (Pete), Autum (Russell), Toi (Ben), Kelly and Brittany; great grandchildren, Pete, Tyler, William, Daniel and Joel; brother, Frank C. (Mary) Slaughter, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia; aunt, Essie Jarrell of Butler, Georgia.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 17, 2010 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
