Jerry A. Whittington

Jerry A. Whittington, age 72 of Gladwin, died early Saturday morning May 31, 2014 at Horizon Senior Living in Gladwin. The son of the late Carl and Eva H. (Chasteen) Whittington was born in Dudley, Missouri on July 24, 1941. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry had been employed with General Motors until retiring in 1994 after 20 plus years of service. He was a stamp and coin collector, enjoyed doing home repair projects and listening to 50 & 60 music.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years the former Elizabeth Wamser of whom he married on September 29, 1961; his son, Terry (Lori) Whittington of Midland; granddaughter, Eryn Whittington; step grandchildren, Kyle & Emiley Scribner; sister, Glenda (Kenneth) Beals of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by brother, Terry Duane Whittington; sister, Caroline Hiffmier.


Per the wishes of Jerry cremation has taken place and there will be no other services. Memorials may be offered to Hospice Advantage 401 Center Ave Bay City, Michigan 48708 or United Way.
