Jean Ellen Thomas

Jean Ellen Thomas, age 82 of Sanford, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at MyMichigan Health in Midland. She was born in Detroit on July 3, 1941 to the late William and Lucy (Enzer) Durkee. Jean was raised and educated in Bellaire where she worked at the family pharmacy and toy store.

Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was an accomplished pilot. She enjoyed traveling, going on vacation, puzzles, and playing cards. Most of all, Jean will be remembered for the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and animals, particularly her dogs.

Surviving are her children, JeanEllen Conley, Tracy (Dan) Zipp, and LeeAnn (Chris) Bronikowski; grandchildren, Randell, Chris Sr., Sondra, Axena, Dakota, Samantha, Justin, Zacharey, Seth, Dan (Katie); 14 great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (Sam) Roy-Lewis; and sister in-law, Bonna Durkee. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Richard Conley; and brother, William Durkee.

Per Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
