Jay Arther Morgan

Jay Arther Morgan, age 91 of Midland, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born December 12, 1933 in Midland, Michigan to the late Lewis and Dorothy (Drake) Morgan. Jay's career with Dow Chemical began in 1955 and spanned 33 years with his retirement in 1988. He was a longtime member of the Sanford United Methodist Church, enjoyed refurbishing old cars and building dune buggies out of Volkswagens. Later in life, his hobbies he enjoyed was making birdhouse condos, Tinmen and other yard art. He also loved his time he spent in Florida at their trailer each year for 6 months.

Jay married the former Beverly J. Mills on August 26, 1955. They shared 65 years of marriage before she passed on July 13, 2021. He is survived by his children, Sherri (Dean) Dubay and Steve (Lynne) Morgan; his grandchildren, Brent, Ryan, Joe, Brittany, Page, Jeremy, Kristin, Michelle, Tyler, Jaymi, and Matthew; 14 great grandchildren; his son-in-law, Terry Clute; brother-in-law, Larry Finney and brother and sister in-law, Bruce and Donna Craner. In addition to his wife, Jay is predeceased by his children, Melody Clute and Penny (Paul) Cronkright; his brother, Dave (Jean) Morgan; and sisters, Dolores (Gibb) Jackson, Patricia (Lyle) Burch, Dixie Finney; and brother and sister in-law, Doug and Charlene Todd.

Jay's life will be celebrated with a service starting at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of service. Lunch will follow the service in the Miller Reception Room located at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be offered to the wishes of the family.
