James A. Webb, age 76, died on Monday February 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
The son of the late Arthur and Gladys (Pahota) Webb was born on January 6, 1940 in Midland, where he was raised. After graduating from Midland High School, Jim served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon his return from Korea, Jim attended Central Michigan University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He worked for A. C. Nielson in Detroit prior to returning to Mt. Pleasant. He worked in management at the CMU Bookstore, retiring in 1994. The family returned to Midland in 1998, where Jim was a wonderful stay at home Dad, as well as a devoted family man in the care of his brothers and parents in their later years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and card games, especially poker and bridge. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and held season tickets for CMU Football.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Reigler), whom he married December 12, 1986; his cherished daughter Jamie Webb; brother Jack (JoAnne) Webb; special nephew Adam Webb; and other nephews Scott, Steve, and Jason Webb. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Robert.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, February 12, 2016 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Michael Sawicki officiating. The Midland Area Veterans and the US Army Honors Team will provide military honors. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
