It is with heavy hearts that members of the Wade family announce the passing of their beloved father, James A. Wade on Sunday, May 26th, 2024. He was born on July 19, 1933 in Howell, Michigan to Harold and Lois Wade. He was the only surviving child and lived a very active life. He met and married Edith Wade (Phillips) who was born in Ada, Oklahoma. Together they raised four children, Linda M. Lewis, (Portland, Oregon), (ex-husband Douglas Lewis), Sheryl A. Cooper (Midland, Michigan), (John Cooper), Philip R. Wade (wife Starr Wade, Lake City, Michigan) and Andrea K. Wade (Midland, Michigan). James also has 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren to date.
James worked for Dow Chemical Company for 34 years holding multiple positions at the company. He enjoyed many outdoor hobbies such as hunting, fishing, golfing, softball and also was very active in nature. He was a member of the Mid-Michee Bowmen's Club as well as an active participant of his deer hunting club, Oak Flats. James was a trained musician who played the piano, organ, tenor saxophone, flute, and drums. He was a member of the Midland High School marching band and sang and played in church musical groups over the years. He served as a pianist at Open Door Baptist Church for many years as a fill in. We welcome anyone who would like to come and celebrate a life well lived with the family.
