James Douglas Spann

November 23, 1933 — December 13, 2022

James Douglas Spann, age 89 of Sanford, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Welcome Home Senior Living in Auburn. He was born on November 23, 1933 in Midland to the late Leo and Edith Spann. James honorably served our country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Grace Spann of Sanford; children, Teresa (James) Merryman of Sanford, Brenda Wilcox of Midland, Melissa (David) Carroll of Midland; 7 grandchildren and 8 great – grandchildren; and siblings, Joan Shangle and Roger Spann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Edith Spann; and brothers, Kenneth and Duane Spann.

Per the wishes of James, no services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be offered to an organization of one's choice. The family would like to thank Welcome Home Senior Living in Auburn and Care team Hospice for the care given to James.
