James E. Noykos, Jr. age 49 of Gladwin, died Saturday January 25, 2014 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. The son of Carol Ann (Parker) and the late James E. Noykos, Sr. was born in Midland on March 12, 1964. Jim was a certified Ford Mechanic and had worked in many different dealerships in Florida. He enjoyed working and collecting cars especially his '˜69 Dodge Charger. Jim also loved music and collected many different guitars and amplifiers; he enjoyed woodworking and had a big heart to stray animals.
Surviving is his mother and step father, Carol Ann and Tomas Glenn of Gladwin; sisters, Catherine Jo (Jeff) Dixon of Bloomfield Hills, Mi. Colleen (Roger) Lewis of Bucyrus, OH; fiancée, Cathy Ziemba; cousins, Michael Noykos, Leon Noykos, Scott Noykos & Jackie Noykos; and several other cousins, aunts and uncles; and favorite Uncle Fred Parker and a favorite pre-deceased Aunt Barb; best friend, John Bingham; his dog and cats, Mr. Widdles, Preshus, Lovie, Gizmo, Bugos Daddy. In addition to his father Jim was preceded in death by grandparents, Al & Bessie Parker, Frank & Lillian Noykos; best friend, Mike Milliken; cats, Mrs., Kitty and Mister.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 1, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd., Midland. With the Reverend Martin Hodges officiating. Interment will be in Homer Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Gladwin County Humane Society.
