James A. McDonald age 86 of Midland died Friday April 25, 2014 at Brittany Manor. The son of the late Grover and Rhea (Doil) McDonald was born on January 12, 1928 in Midland where he was raised and educated. On June 25, 1950 he married the former Dolores Yoder. James served with the U.S. Army. He worked as a machinist for the Dow Chemical Co. retiring in the early 1980's. He was a member of the Poseyville United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and hunting.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores McDonald; son Dennis (Lydia) McDonald of Seabrook Island, SC; daughters Judy McDonald of Midland and Gayle (C. Steven) Nelson of Springboro, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Allison McDonald, Ryan Nelson, Jonathan (Laura) Dunlap, Andrew (Olga) McDonald, Nolan McDonald and one great grandchild Kate Dunlap. He will also be missed by his brothers Wilbur (Elenor) McDonald and John (Helen) McDonald. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother Maurice McDonald.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm Tuesday April 29, 2014 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7. Memorials may be offered to the Poseyville United Methodist Church.
