James L. "Jim" Perry

James L. "Jim" Perry, age 76 of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025.  The son of the late James L. and Rose (Sam) Perry, Sr.  He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on November 22, 1948.  Jim served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a self-employed home improvement contractor for over 50 years.  Jim loved to travel, and enjoyed camping, playing corn-hole and ladder golf, going to the casino, and playing bingo.  For over 23 years, Jim kept the books or ran the clock for the Meridian basketball teams.

Surviving is his wife, the former Patricia J. Fleming, of whom he married April 8, 1978; children, Ryan Perry, Jeanie Kapanke; grandchildren, Beth Ann, Danielle, Cody Kapanke; sister, Patricia (Al) Lindemeyer; in laws, John (Kim) Fleming, Linda (Jeff) Chase, Patrick (Kim) Fleming, Mary Rocha, Janice Tucker; siblings, Michael (Phyllis) Perry, Pamela (Lee) Yeager, David (Maggie) Perry; many nieces, nephews, and great, great great nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Edward.

Funeral services for Jim will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home in Midland. Interment will follow in Jerome Twp Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the funeral home Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00; Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
