James Robert Eastman

James Robert Eastman, age 70 of Shepherd, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on August 2, 1952 in Midland to the late Donald R. and Dora J. (Yates) Eastman. He married the former Karen Havens on August 21, 2004 at the Floyd Church of God.

Jim loved anything to do with cars, including racing, repairing, and collecting. His collection included a '72 Chevy Pickup and '82 Buick Riviera. For over 30 years, he owned and operated Jim's Auto Repair and Parts. He enjoyed being outdoors with his favorite activities being hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife, Karen Eastman; children, James Eastman II, Jerry (Rebecca) Eastman, Jaimie Eastman, Randall (Elizabeth) Eastman; step children, Scott (Janet), Mike (Lianne), Mark, Cheryl (Mike); 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and sister, Peggy (John) Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Eastman and Suzan (Al) Rassmussan.

Services to celebrate Jim's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Floyd Church of God. Pastor George Stewart will officiate with burial to follow in Porter Twp Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm on Friday at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home and on Saturday at the church from 10 am until the time of service.
