James E. Chapman, age 67 of Hope, died on Sunday January 1, 2023 at his home. The son of the late Jonie and Sarah (Ray) Chapman was born in Midland on April 29, 1955. Jim had been employed with Three Rivers Construction and eventually worked and retired from Midland County Parks. His grandchildren & great grandchildren were the light of his life. Jim was self-proclaim "Mayor of Edenville" took great pride in taking care of his yard of which he spent many hours riding his tractor. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.
Surviving his is wife of 36 years, the former Linda Davis, of whom he married on May 27, 1986; daughters, Shannon Romanik, Katrina (Jimmy) Conley all of Midland; grandchildren, Beau, Ryan Angus, Morgan, Emily, Katy Sue Elliott; great grandchildren, Lila Elliott and Kash Young; sisters, Mary Louise (Dick) Hillier, Rose Care, Betty (Lee) Livingston, Marty Kindy, Mary Ann (Leonard) Erskine; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Joann, Sally, Larry, Carolyn; grandson, Owen & Clifford; niece, Tasha Kindy.
Funeral and committal services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. January 5, 2023 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Edenville Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contribution may be directed to the family to the organization of one's choice.
