Jack S. Pomranky, age 81 of Midland died Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Kenora, Ontario, Canada while on a hunting trip. The son of the late Clarence and Lucy (Miller) Pomranky was born on July 11, 1928 in Midland where he was raised and educated. On April 17, 1948 he married the former Marjorie Jean Stanchfield. After 56 years of marriage, Marge predeceased him September 17, 2004. Jack was the co-owner, with his son Gary, of Pomranky Trucking and Excavating. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jack was a member of the Midland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mr. Pomranky is survived by his sons, Timothy (Dori) Pomranky, Gary (Candise) Pomranky and Joel (Jane) Pomranky, all of Midland; daughters, Connie (Richard) Wismer of Midland and Michelle (Ron) Geiger of Gaylord; -12- grandchildren; -12- great grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Mickie) Pomranky of Midland.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 16, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Nelson of the Midland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-8 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the service.
Memorials may be offered to the family, to be used as a memorial for Jack.
