Irene Buza, age 89 of Midland and formerly of Clinton Twp, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Stratford Pines Nursing Center. She was born to the late Francisek and Jozefa (Wyszynski) in Krasowo- Wolka, Poland on October 28, 1934. Irene worked as a nurse and a nanny for many years.
She enjoyed reading, politics, traveling, sewing, wine making, growing grapes and roses, mushroom foraging, cooking, and making paczki. Irene was a devoted Catholic and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Hamtramck. She took great pride in singing for Saint Pope John Paul II at the Silverdome in 1987.
Surviving is her daughter, Ewa Barbara (Adam) Moskal; granddaughter, Ada Brosier; sister, Wanda Konior; brothers, Ryszard Sklodowski and Zygmunt Sklodowski (Anna); many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by brother, Tadeusz Sklodowski; and close friend, Helen Vanhee.
Family wishes to thank Helen Vanhee, Chris, Mark, Rachel Brosier, Heartland Hospice and the Staff at Stratford for the wonderful care given to Irene.
Per the wishes of Irene, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson Miller Funeral Home.
