Irene "Evelyn" Martin, age 94 of Midland, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at her residence with her family by her side. The daughter of the late George and Ada (Cobb) Fryfogle was born in Sebring, Ohio on March 20, 1923. On February 10, 1942, she married Albin Martin. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1982. Irene enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was active with the Take Off Pounds Sensibly group. She was a long time member of Poseyville United Methodist Church. .
Irene is survived by her daughters, Judy (Emery) Sova of Midland, and Mildred (Claude) Ireland of Midland; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by her son, George Martin; siblings, Jack Fryfogle, Veneita Vaughn, and Mildred Howe.
Funeral services for Irene will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, May 12, 2017 from the Poseyville United Methodist Church with Rev. Lyn Frazier officiating. Private burial will be in Poseyville Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of her service.
