Ida Mae Young

Ida M. Young, age 78 of Midland, died Saturday evening November 1, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The daughter of the late Neil D. and Ruth L. (Robinson) Brown was born in Midland on January 3, 1936 where she was raised and educated. Ida enjoyed playing Bingo, sewing gifts for her loved ones and going to their summer cottage in Caseville. She was a member of the Midland Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries 2110. On May 5, 1956 in Midland Ida married David H. Young and after 48 years of marriage he died on January 18, 2005.

Surviving are her sons, Mark (Robin) Young of McKinleyville, California, Bill Young of Midland; daughters, Martha Rich of Houston, Texas, Mara Lee (Eric) Marsh of Midland, Laura (Denis) Moe of Coleman, Lisa (Eric) Anderson of Midland, Brenda (Wayne) Young of Australia; 21 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Paul Brown of Florida; sisters, Jean Hanners of Seattle Washington, Lucille Stephenson of Grand Blanc; brothers in law, Bud Carpenter, Dean Morris; sisters in law, Sally Brown, Ada Brown, Judy Brown, Phyllis Zink; her pet companion Lilly. In addition to her parents Ida was preceded in death by grandchildren, Caitlin & Nathan Young; brothers, Dan & Jim Brown; sisters, Janice Asch, Linda Morris, Dorothy Carpenter; brothers in law, Howard Hanners & Floyd Stephenson.

Per the wishes of Ida cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Personal messages of condolence maybe offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com.
