Helen E. Freeman

Helen E. Freeman, age 86 of Midland, died Monday February 7, 2011 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The daughter of the late George and Genevieve (Colburn) Copp was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on August 8, 1924. Helen has resided in Midland since 1961. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and The Pioneer Class of Michigan Tech., Fort Brady in Sault Ste Marie. Helen was an avid bowler, enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Paul whom she married on December 24, 1943 in Denver CO; Daughter, Nancy Sanford of Sanford; son & daughter in law, Dan & Jill Freeman of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren, Kevin & Tina Spencer, Tim & Sabrina Spencer, Jennifer & Jason Kooiker, Allison & Steve Yenshaw; many great grandchildren; sister, Alice Lumetta. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a son Douglas Freeman.

A celebration of Helen's life will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 12, 2011 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth will officiate. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to The American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association Mid Michigan Chapter.
