Harry "Jack" Beamish, age 87 of Midland died Monday, May 20, 2013 at MidMichigan Medical Center.
   
   The son of the late Harry L. and Helen A. (Weidman) Beamish was born in Midland on July 14, 1925. He graduated from Midland High School in 1943 and then graduated with a Bachelors Degree in civil engineering from Michigan Tech in 1951.
   
   Jack was a project engineer in design manufacturing for The Dow Chemical Company, retiring from manager of design in 1982.
   
   He had been active with the Boy Scouts of America since 1937 and was a member of the 1910 Society. For many years Jack was known as "Ranger Jack" serving with the Paul Bunyan Council as a camp chairman and with camp development. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow as lay advisor, receiving the Distinguished Service Award with the National Order of the Arrow in 1985. He was also a recipient of the St. George Medal and the Silver Beaver Medal.
   
   Jack was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church; serving as treasurer for many years.
   
   
   He is survived by five nieces, Jean Guilford of Hemlock, Helen Caruso of Surprise, AZ, Sally Cowan of Australia, Karen Glover of Chelsea and Mary Fisher of Australia; ten great nieces and nephews; and eight great great nieces and nephews.
   
   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Wade and Ruth Goodman.
   
   
   In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been arranged through the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 am, Friday, June 28, 2013 from St. John's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Rob Skirving officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Inurment will be in North Bradley Cemetery. Donations in Jack's memory may be offered to the Midland Foundation.
