Harold R. Delmarter

Harold R. Delmarter, age 83 of Sanford, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Tendercare of Midland. The son of the late Fred and Hazel (Buffington) Delmarter was born March 13, 1930 in Rhodes. Harold served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Opal Parcher November 15, 1956 and after 52 years of marriage, she predeceased him February 13, 2009. Harold had worked as a lineman for the Wolverine Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Delmarter is survived by his son, Raymond Delmarter of Midland; daughter, Carol (Ken) DeShone of Beaverton; grandchildren, Cassandra (Michael) Richmond, Ken DeShone, Jr., Gregory Delmarter and Raymond (Jessica) Delmarter; eight great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Betti) Delmarter of Chesaning and sister, Carol (Wayne) Yuhler of Merrill. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by daughter in law, Angela Delmarter; 1 bother and 1 sister.

Funeral services for will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday June 24, 2013 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Jerome Township Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Army Funeral Honors and Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
