Grace E. Yoder Giffels

Grace E. Yoder-Giffels age 93 of Midland died Wednesday May 16, 2012 at Tender Care of Midland. The daughter of the late Harvey and Laura (Cobb) Melchi was born on April 26, 1919 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On June 24, 1939 she married Ernest Yoder in Ohio and he predeceased her on December 16 1989. She then married Roy Giffels on November 11, 1990 and he predeceased her on April 9, 2005. Grace was a long time member of Floyd Church of God where she had taught Sunday School. She enjoyed traveling north to the cabin and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Grace is survived by sons, Marvin Yoder, Danny (Helen) Yoder; daughter, Maxine Stone; grandchildren, Cynthia (Harvey) Rickett, Philip (Beth) Poole, Sherry Yoder, Cristine Hillier, Danny (Jennifer) Yoder; eleven great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandsons.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Grace was predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Wofley, Ola Mudd, Cloyd Melchi, Charles Melchi, Norman Melchi, Marguerite Reist, Vernon Melchi and Lee Melchi.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, May 21, 2012 from the Floyd Church of God with the Reverend Jeff Eckman officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the church.
