Grace L. Montle

Grace L. Montle, age 97 of Midland, died Friday December 28, 2012 at MidMichigan Stratford. The daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Harrington) Peck was born in Akron, Michigan on May 22, 1915 where she was raised and educated. Grace use to clean many homes in the Midland area, and worked for the former circle bowl. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, gardening, traveling and camping. She belonged to a club that enjoyed doing crafts and playing cards. On January 24, 1934, Grace married Ray S. Montle by the Justice of Peace in Caro, Michigan. He died in 1966.

Surviving is her son, Elwood Montle of Midland; daughter in law, Joan Montle; grandchildren, Dawn (Chris) Hockaday, Mark (Cindy) Montle, Michael Montle; great grandchildren, Brandon, Nick, Leah, Cal, Kelsey, Samantha, Nate, Natasha & Megan; great great grandchildren, Kaylee, Hailey & Addi; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by son, Garry; brothers and sisters in law, Russell (Evelyn) Peck, Morris (Lizzie) Peck; sisters and brothers in law, Blanche (Al) Gage, Beulah (Ray) Gage.

Funeral services will take place 12 noon Wednesday January 2, 2013 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Lowell Gisel will officiate Interment will be in Demorest Cemetery in Akron. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the organization of choice.
