Glenn Arthur Gracik, age 67, of North Pole, Alaska, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Midland, Michigan. He was born June 29, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, to Barbara and Francis Gracik.
Glenn married the love of his life, Virginia Abia, in the Philippines, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, humor, and adventure.
He graduated from Tawas Area High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 22 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his service, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Systems Technology. Following his military career, Glenn continued to give back to young people as a Junior ROTC instructor at North Pole High School, a role he cherished. Prior to his passing, Glenn retired from working as a Civilian Contractor on Eielson Air Force Base Unit Deployment Manager where he was responsible for ensuring the 18th Aggressors were trained and medically fit for deployment. He then over the Scheduling position when the Scheduler quit and continued to perform UDM responsibilities until a new scheduler was hired. On top of being the UDM, he was asked to be the Vault Duty Officer when COVID-19 started. He deployed one person to a real-world destination while doing the extra tasks such as scheduling and VDO.
Glenn loved the outdoors and could always be found camping, fishing, hunting, or spending long summer days with family at the fish wheel. You could also always find him tinkering around his garage working on whatever project car (or truck) currently had his attention. Every holiday and family gathering you could find him cooking the meal with the family, and cracking jokes to get a laugh, or two. He loved to play card and board games with anyone who would play. And let's not get started on when the Karaoke machine was brought out. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than the laughter and antics of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Barbara Gracik; his brother, Bill; and his grandchildren, Anastasia and Abigail.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Gracik; his children John, Scott, Tracy, Julie, and Kayra; his grandchildren Romeo, Juliette, Sebastian, Isaac, Kenzie, Cyris, Jayden, Makai, Julianna, Raelynn, Rio, Charles, Janet, and Steven; his brothers and sisters Mary, Jack, Dave, Theresa, Judy, Steve, and Sue; and a legacy of love, service, and stories that will be treasured forever.
Per Glenn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
