Gladys J. Yetman, 91, of Midland, passed away on Sunday evening, April 12, 2015. Gladys was born in Mitchell, Ontario, on March 16, 1924, to John and Mary (Davies) Waugh, now deceased. She married Augustus "Gus" Yetman in Toronto in 1950. With her husband and two children, she immigrated to the United States in 1959 and settled in Midland in 1985.
Surviving are her children, Gloria (Jerry) Stonerock of Midland, Glenda (Richard) VanDenBosch of Breckenridge, Robert (Chelle) Yetman of Davis, California, and Julie (Kipp) Moe of Midland; grandchildren, Amber (Bryan) Smith, Ryan Yetman and Piper Moe; and great grandchildren, Charlie and Briella Smith. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, her sister Muriel Carr, and her twin brother, Thomas Waugh.
Known for her independent spirit and strength of character, Gladys loved animals, music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member and active volunteer at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Midland.
A funeral service for Gladys will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, April 23, at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Cory Herthal officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to the Midland County Humane Society. The family extends its appreciation to the staff of Brittany Manor for the care and compassion they provided Gladys.
