Gladys M. Grigar - Taylor

Gladys M. Grigar – Taylor, age 97 of Midland, passed away August 12, 2024 at MyMichigan Health. She was born on May 7, 1927 to the late Russell and Anna (Makins) Knack. On June 22, 1946, Gladys married Thomas O. Grigar and together they raised their three children. After 31 years of marriage, Thomas passed away in September of 1985. She then married Robert Taylor on July 9, 1988 and they spent 33 years together before his passing.

Gladys worked for many years with the Dow Chemical Company as an office professional. She was a member of both the VFW post 3651 and the American Legion Berryhill Post 165. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, dancing, throwing darts, collecting knick knacks, and caring for plants.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Thomas E. Grigar of Sanford, Terry (Robert) Moor of Sanford, Tena (Jerry) Wagner of Midland; grandchildren, Karrie Wagner, Shelly (Jeff) Hollinshead, Stacey (Jon) Chapin, Jeremy (Kayla) Wagner, Stacy (Russ) Goodrich, Thomas J. Grigar; step grandchildren, Bobbi (Jeff) Collier, Randy (Hope) Oryszczak; 21 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Boulis, and infant sisters, Jaqueline and June.

Funeral services for Gladys will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Burial will be in the North Star Twp Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to the American Legion Berryhill Post 165.
