George R. Seward

George R. Seward, age 82 of Sanford died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Bay Special Care Hospital in Bay City. The son of the late Harrison R. and Catherine (Sweet) Seward was born on January 1, 1928. He served with the United States Army in Korea. George worked for the City of Midland retiring in 1984 with 32 years of service. He was well known for his love of rabbit hunting and raising Beagles.

George is survived by his daughters; Sherry (Bill) Koenig, Dawn Hoover of Midland; one son, George R. Seward Jr.; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; son-in- law, Larry Westlock. George was preceded in death by his wife Maris Seward; daughters, Terry Westlock, Marci Seward. George will also be missed by a good friend and care giver Paul Marsh of Sanford.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Allen Campbell, Pastor of North Point Ministries officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service. Interment will be in Jerome Township Cemetery.
