George A. Sawade

George A. Sawade, age 62 of Midland, went home to his Lord after a brief illness, Tuesday morning November 27, 2012 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by family and friends.
The son of the late Edward A. and Mildred M. (Holiday) Sawade was born in Mt. Pleasant on January 21, 1950. He had been employed with Newcor Inc. until retiring in 2005 after 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, was able to find something old and make something wonderful out of it, did a lot of repair jobs for family, traveling all over, being with his grandchildren especially fishing with them in the pond, going to gas engine shows and build small hit & miss engines. George also enjoyed boon docking in Yuma, AZ and drinking coffee with his many restaurant friends.

Surviving is his wife of 19 years the former Deborah Mann of whom he married on October 18, 1993; his children Scott Sawade, Jennifer Sawade both of Midland, Laurie (Mat) Killinger of Midland, Becky (Bill) Otto of Texas; grandchildren, Kortnie, Samantha and Scotty Sawade, Bryan & Thomas Hayes, Drake & Jerzie Killinger; sisters, Irene (Leon) Burr of Shepherd, Janet (Robert) Knapp, Brenda (Albert) Knapp all of Midland; sister in law, Pat Sawade of Midland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, Ron and Albert Sawade, James Chalmers; sister, Dolores Rhode.

Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 1, 2012 at Midland Missionary Church. Pastor Mark Beers will officiate. Family will received friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd on Friday from 4 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
