George H. Hall

George H. Hall, age 81 of Sanford, died Wednesday morning September 3, 2014 at Brittany Manor. The son of the late George R. and Mamie (Schrott) Hall was born on June 4, 1933 in Horton Twp. Ogemaw County, Michigan. George served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with the State of Michigan doing highway maintenance, he then went to work for The Dow Chemical Co until retiring in 1993 After 27 ½ years of service. George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and United Steelworkers of America Local 12075. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years the former Barbara Jean Szocinki of whom he married on May 8, 1965 in Gaylord; children, Rosemary Hall of Midland, Patrick L. (Peggy) Hall of Lady Lake, Florida; grandson, Cody Alan Hall; sisters, Christine McGregore of Mio, Charlotte Hall of Kalamazoo. In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Hall.

Funeral services for George will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 6, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral with Rev. Paul Murphrey of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service.
